TIMELINE
Since January 2023, I have been leading an interdisciplinary workshop at the Axel Springer Academy, where journalists collaborate to develop innovative social media storytelling formats. Our primary focus is leveraging AR technologies to bring journalistic content to life on platforms like Snapchat, creating engaging and dynamic experiences.
The goal is to empower the next generation of journalists to craft immersive storytelling formats that truly resonate with their audiences. So far, we have successfully implemented five projects for major brands like BILD Sport, Welt, and Stepstone. One standout project amassed over 250,000 views within the first three weeks—clear evidence of the strong audience engagement AR content can generate.
Another key milestone is the Mind Stories project, where the AR lens and the character Octy, developed as part of the initiative, were showcased at the Cannes Lions Festival 2023 by Niddal Salah-Eldin (Axel Springer) and Rami Saad (Snap Inc.).
